Meet the Board
The Tennessee Association of Craft Artists (TACA) is a nonprofit organization with the mission to encourage, develop, and promote crafts and crafts people in Tennessee. We have been working to preserve the tradition and heritage of Tennessee craft art since 1965. With the help of our talented members, supportive donors, committed sponsors, and selfless volunteers we continually work to educate the public and our artists about the art of craft.
We are most recognized for our TACA Tennessee and Fall Craft Fairs that take over Nashville's Centennial Park every year. The events have repeatedly been ranked as one of the "Top Twenty Events in the Southeast" by the Southeast Tourism Society and were designated official Bicentennial Events by the Tennessee 200 Committee. The events serve as an opportunity for artists to showcase their work, educate the community about craft, and pass on Tennessee traditions.
Though the Craft Fairs draw a lot of attention from the public, we host numerous other events and support educational programs to achieve our mission. These range from our Best of Tennessee Biennial Exhibition to our Master Artist Apprentice Program held annually in conjunction with the Tennessee Arts Commission.
In addition to our programs and services, we offer exclusive opportunities to our members. Anyone (artist, collector, and/or admirer of craft) of any level (from novice to master) is invited to join. TACA presents a common voice for the many-faceted field of fine craft in Tennessee. Your membership helps create a professional organization with high standards, committed to encouraging creativity and nurturing craft excellence statewide. There are many benefits associated with a TACA membership and we welcome new members throughout the year. Click on the "Members" tab above to learn more and consider joining today.
Volunteers play a major role in the success of all TACA events and operations. These tireless individuals assist behind the scenes to provide hospitality at our craft fairs, exhibitions and special activities. Consider joining TACA as a member or as a volunteer.
